The transits of Chiron in Pisces, June, July, August 2012

Chiron performs the role of guide in our transpersonal journey, from conditioning to freedom, orbiting between the earthy sphere of Saturn and the celestial sphere of Uranus-Neptune-Pluto. His function is that of healing the widening split between our instinctual and spiritual awareness.

At this crucial time Chiron is deeply implicated with Uranus and Pluto, showing, together with Neptune, now also transiting Pisces, possible creative ways out of the dangerous situations the square Uranus-Pluto could force us into. This is the way of compassion, of accepting one’s vulnerability rather than choice always competitive ways to relate to one another.

Chiron’s Transits to Pluto and Uranus will remain active ‘til the beginning of 2014.

Chiron’s transits will be more significant for some Pisces (Feb23/29), Virgo (Aug27/Sep3), Gemini (May25/31), Sagittarius (Nov26/Dec2), Scorpio (Oct27/Nov2) and Cancer (Jun25/Jul2); also any sensitive degree with Moon, Ascendant, a Planet, Angle or Node between the fifth and tenth degrees of the above Signs.

When Chiron was ‘discovered’ in 1977 the world was ready to begin manifesting this planet’s particular brand of energy. That marked the moment the chironic experience became mainstream, with the renaissance of natural healing practices and holistic medicines.

There have always been people interested and savvy in the natural arts of healing and shamanic realms of perception, but in the late 70s, when Chiron appeared in our conscious sky, many discovered that healing and self-healing are not occult powers bestowed only on few gifted individuals but rather the inborn talent of every soul.

Through Chiron, personally and collectively, we also have become more aware that all is not well with us, that we and the society we live in are in grave need of healing.  Modern, allopathic medicine is mainly concerned with suppressing symptoms or getting rid of the diseased cells through surgery and radically destructive medications. Chiron, not a product of science, but an aspect of the Divine, instead teaches us to work through our symptoms, seeking their psychic origins, working with our inadequacies and wounding.

Pisces, last in the sequence of twelve Signs, represents the end product of the entire cycle and also contains, in seed form, the future cycle. Chiron, the healer centaur of ancient lore, with his wisdom and knowledge of nature’s remedies, in Pisces will show us the way to merge with the natural environment, to participate emotionally, not merely intellectually to the suffering of the less privileged and of the Planet itself.

On the negative side this position of Chiron may increase the risk of serious pandemics, because the medium of Pisces, with its openness and fluidity, is ideal for the spread of infections, the absorption of poisons and the lowering of our collective immunity. Tears and powerlessness, with the loss of control are some of the traditional attributes of mystical Pisces, when its energy is mishandled.

The Earth may become more susceptible to illnesses brought about by pollution and neglect, the same applying to all the beings that populate it, animals and humans. The situation on our planet may worsen before the healing can begin.

One way or the other, this long transit will make us realize that, if any member of the human family suffers, the whole of humanity suffers. The potential for collective healing through this configuration is self-evident, but only via spiritual surrender of ego centred attitudes.

Chiron in Pisces basically suggests that to cure the body (ours, the Earth’s) we need to heal the soul.

New-Moon-Nov-16New Moon in Scorpio, November 16, at 08.13 pm

(Australian Eastern Summer Time, –11 hours)

I have chosen a night background for this New Moon Horoscope because the phase happened during the night in the Australian eastern regions.

This New Moon, the beginning of a new Lunation cycle, is in positive aspect to Uranus in Pisces, embracing changes, and in hard aspect to the Aquarian conjunction of Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune, warning that beautiful ideals and dreams aren’t enough to ensure real progress. Mercury entered Sagittarius early on November 16,  just in time for this New Moon, a positive change encouraging travel, study, and all forms of adventures.

If you are celebrating your birthday today the year ahead will present you with the opportunity of initiating something new, opening a novel chapter in your life story. Emotions will run deep in the next few months, but it may prove difficult to express them, unless with someone you can truly trust (Sun, Moon, Venus in Scorpio). You may be able to achieve a new level of closeness with someone. while a sense of adventure may entice you to travel or pursue new intellectual, creative or spiritual goals (Mercury in Sagittarius). Trying to keep your feet firmly on the ground may be difficult, because some of the transits active today are boosting your confidence and enthusiasm, perhaps a touch too much. Moderation recommended.

Most importantly the Saturn square Pluto is finally exact today, November 17. The year will not be devoid of challenges, especially for Scorpios born on this day, but for many other people as well. Hard work and commitment are demanded here, to transform the challenges into stepping stones for future success. Much indeed can be accomplished through this transit, especially if your Birth Chart shows strong Saturn and Pluto energies, doesn’t matter what Sun Sign you are. You need to remain focused in the face of emotional upheavals and the need to let go of the past or accept unavoidable losses.

Collectively this New Moon is interesting, because it opens the Lunation cycle during which the Copenhagen Summit on Climate Change will begin on December 7 (with the Moon near the Last Quarter phase of the cycle).
